Rating: 5 Stars
Level: Young Adult

Summary from Goodreads:
Some wounds are too deep to be seen and too malignant to heal.

Alora is dying and no one knows why. The unseen effects of Vindrake’s torture linger long after the physical wounds have healed. Damaged as she is, Alora must still use her gift to battle Vindrake’s evil, though she hastens her death by doing it.

Vindrake, deluded into believing his cause is holy, continues his quest to dominate Tenavae, this time attacking the very foundation of all knowledge, aided by a terrible new weapon, which falls into his hands. As some who are loyal to Vindrake infiltrate the ranks of Stone Clan, Kaevin’s life hangs in the balance.

But true love is expressed in the ultimate sacrifice—to lay down one’s life for a friend.

My Review:
The Maladorn Scroll is a five star book in my opinion! It is definitely worth reading this series, it gets better and more exciting with each book.

In this one we get to travel between Montana and Tenavae thanks to Alora and someone else. That someone is making portals and they need to figure out who it is and how they are doing it. Alora and her friends are in the fight of their lives throughout this book. I loved that the same characters have continued throughout the story and we get to learn more about them with each book. Vindrake is still his evil self causing havoc wherever he goes.

There is so much going on all the time with the characters. But at the same time the author does not overload the reader with too much information at one time, just enough for what's happening at the moment. If you thought the previous books were exciting, wait till you read this one. My heart was pounding with the suspense and action throughout. There is just enough clean romance to add to everything I love about this series.

The story will have you hooked from the first page to the last. I am not going to say anything more that happens because I don't want to give anything away. I will tell you that there are many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The ending will leave you wanting more and with many questions left unanswered. The final words are a real shocker and we are left with a cliffhanger ending. I can't wait until the next book is available! This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.

An exciting adventure of danger, magical creatures and deities are revealed to Jasper, after being chosen by an ancient goddess to take part in an unknown destiny that has been tainted with cursed blood, born from the land of magic; Avalon.

My Review:
Cursed Blood is one wild ride of a story! Harkreader hooked me from the beginning and kept me reeled in the entire length of the book. It has a mixture of magic, fantasy, adventure, romance with a sense of real imagination. I really enjoyed reading it, five stars all the way!

The first part of the story takes place in Tokyo, Japan while it quickly moves to the magical land of Avalon. Jasper has been around for a long time since his blood was cursed by a evil goddess many years ago. Vincent is another one who has been cursed by the same goddess and is always trying to get Jasper to side with him. Together they can bring the goddess back and start a new world. Hanako and her two brothers live with their grandmother in Tokyo, their parents were killed years ago. They believe that they are just normal humans. They have no idea that they are actually Fae and that their grandmother put a spell on them so they wouldn't find out. Well that is until they do. That is when everything changes. One of the brothers is captured and turned evil.

Hanako, her brother Tenchi team up with Jasper to try to find their brother and stop Vincent and the goddess. Many exciting things happen once they are in Avalon. Some good, some bad and all really fun to read. The story takes the characters on an adventure with good and evil that they soon won't forget.

I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will just tell you this is a must read. The action and suspense never stops. There is a lot of magic and just enough innocent romance to lighten things up at times. There were moments when my heart was pounding and I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. The cliffhanger ending will leave you breathless and wanting more. I know I want to read the next book when it is available! This author will be one I will be on the lookout for more books from. This e-book was provided to me for review.
