Sherwood's End (Robbin' Hearts Series #3)

Book: Sherwood's End (Robbin' Hearts Series #3)
Author: Diane J. Reed
Publisher:  Bandits Ranch Books, LLC
Rating: 5 Stars
Level: New Adult
Source: paperback review copy

Summary from Goodreads:
Sometimes a great love won’t let go…until you believe.

The elite Pinnacle Boarding School for Girls is renowned for keeping away far more high school applicants from its hallowed halls than it lets in. But lately, someone has been lurking in the shadows, writing cryptic messages on mirrors, and putting people’s lives in peril. When Robin and Creek begin to suspect that this otherworldly guest may have a connection to a tragedy in Creek’s past—and isn’t about to go away anytime soon—they return to Robin’s Alma Mater to try and uncover the truth behind the mysterious spirit’s rage. What they discover is a love story for the ages that leaves them breathless and inspires healing and hope for all those who dare to believe in miracles.

Due to mature themes, readership is advised for ages 17+.

My Review:
Sherwood's End is a love story to end all love stories. It will take you on a thrilling, heart wrenching and emotional ride. You truly will not want to put this down once you start reading it.

When strange things start happening at the elite Pinnacle Boarding School for girls, Robin's former school, Robin and Creek know they must figure out what is going on. With the help of Granny Tinker's magical spells and the Stone of Thieves Robin and Creek will embark on one wild ride.

They have been through so much together already, from Robin showing up at Turtle Shores, falling in love, and traveling to Italy to find out about her mom. Now they will finally know the truth about Creek's parents and what led to the life that made Creek who he is today.

I fell in love with Sherwood Flynn right from the beginning. The way that he swept Caroline off her feet to their tragic ending. I was so engrossed in the story that I sometimes forgot that I was reading a book and not actually there with the characters. When you read Sherwood's End you will understand what I am talking about. I could go on and on about what scenes I loved and what happened but I don't want to give away any spoilers.

This is such a wonderful, dark at times, love story. There is lots of romance, and some scenes are more mature themed. I was surprised by the revelations of the characters backgrounds. By the end we will know the truth and any loose ends are all tied up. I loved that the story took us back to Turtle Shores. The people there are so unique, fun and magical. I wish that there were more books in this series because I didn't want it to end.

I really enjoy the writing style of the author. The stories and the characters are so real that it makes for some really great story telling. If you enjoy an amazing love story that you need to read this series!

Review: Between Worlds: Nekkel Ace by Yianna Yiannacou

Between Worlds: Nekkel Ace

Book: Between Worlds: Nekkel Ace
Author: Yianna Yiannacou
Publisher: Yianna yiannacou
Rating: 3 Stars
Level: Young Adult

Summary from Goodreads:
On a distant planet called Caledonia, a young woman named Sophia Amaro embarks on a journey to self-discovery. Living the sheltered life with servants waiting on her hand and foot everyday just isn't enough for her. After an accident which leaves her father in critical condition, it's up to her to save his life. But to find the cure, she must visit the forbidden planet: Earth. Sophia uses the secret portal to journey to Earth. Not only is she trying to save her father's life, but she also has to figure out what she wants to do with her own along the way. Just when things couldn't get more complicated, she unexpectedly finds love. Sophia has to realize what is more important to her; her father's life, or the one she loves. Between Worlds: Nekkel Ace will have you turning the page after every chapter, eager to learn what will happen next.

My Review:
Between Worlds: Nekkel Ace is fast paced and has an interesting story line. It is a stand alone book and is well written.

Sophia lives on the planet of Caledonia where she spends her time hanging out in her garden daydreaming. She tries unsuccessfully to steer clear of Paul Jr. who is annoying. She has heard about planet Earth and would love to one day get the chance to go there. Her parents are not willing to let her visit there as people on Earth are not supposed to know about Caledonia.

After an accident leaves her father in critical condition Sophia uses this opportunity to go to Earth. She has been told by her father's doctor that if she can find the Nekkel Ace it will heal her father. She has no idea what is in store for her when she goes through the portal. It's on Earth that she meets Joshua. They instantly fall in love. But when Sophia finds Joshua's father's journal she finds out more than she would like to know. She doesn't know how things work here and she's not sure if she can trust him anymore. Unable to find the portal back to Caledonia will she be stuck here forever?

I liked this story and the characters. Well most of them, I didn't like Paul Jr. at all. Matteo was such a great brother. I found his story interesting and well written. Sophia and Joshua's relationship was a bit fast for me. I understand that this is a stand alone book but I just wish that it would have been drawn out a bit more. The Nekkel Ace was had me stumped of what is was that Sophia was looking for. When it was reveled I was like what, how did I miss that? I was quite surprised by the end of the book and happy at the same time. This is an author that I will be on the lookout for more books from. This e-book was provided to me by the author for review. This did not affect my review in any way.

Teaser Tuesdays

TeaserTuesdays2014e
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:

"So how was Earth?" It's rude to cut someone off, but I had to.  "Well, I was having trouble with the Portal, but other than that -" Dad stopped talking.
