Author Interview

Tell us a little about yourself...
I am 35 years old, a mother of two young girls and currentlyliving in Florida with my family. Originally I am from Denmark but three yearsago we chose to leave the cold and move to the sunshine state where every dayis a potential beach-day and where winter-boots are something you wear withyour shorts when they bring in artificial snow in December for the kids to play in. I have written several books in Danish before I started writing inEnglish. My Danish books are published in Denmark, Germany and Norway.

What do you enjoy doing when not writing?
I go to the beach with my family or a good book. I love the beach!

When did you begin writing?
I have always told stories.I remember telling stories to my friends as a child in school and making themforget that they had to go out and play for recess. Even my teacher wouldlisten in and he told me to keep it up and to  write them down. I wrote severalnotebooks filled with stories that he read. He encouraged me a lot. I went on to become a journalist and wrote my first novel when I was 28. It was published by one of the big Danish publishing houses.

Do you listen to music, drink coffee, etc. while writing?
I have a thing for James Blunt. I always listen to him when I write. Never when I am not writing. It is weird. There is something about the intensity in his lyrics that makes me want to write. Other than that I always drink green tea.

What book are you currently reading, just finished reading or going to read next?
I just finished Water for Elephants which I enjoyed a lot. I have no idea what to read next. I am in the mood for John Irving's newest so that might be it.

Who are some of your favorite authors?
Anne Rice, Isabel Allende, John Irving, Stephen King - I know it is a weird group but they have different qualities to them.

What other projects are you working on or have coming out next?
I am already writing the sequel to Savage. I am planning to do three books about my main character Christian. It is sort of a family-saga really. In the first book he is in his twenties and so is the woman he falls in love with. In the second book they have kids of their own and are in their thirties. In the last book they will have young teenagers. I am also planning on doing a book about Aiyana, the spirit-filled Native American girl that he falls hopelessly in love with. About her and when she first discovers who she really is. I might also do a book about her sister who does telekinesis and their grand-mother who predicts natural disasters. I love those characters so much that they each deserve their own book.

Why did you choose to write this genre?
I started out writing mystery-novels and that was a lot of fun, but everything has to be so realistic. I have a very vivid imagination and I needed to get that out somehow as well and the paranormal romance/action genre is perfect for that.

If you could be any paranormal or have a supernatural talent what would it be and why?
I would like to be able to read people's mind like Aiyana. Just to always know what my kids were up to.

Tell us why readers will enjoy reading your book...
Because they will fall absolutely in love with all the characters. They are so lovable, so adorable and I myself have a hard time letting them go. So will they.

The year is 1983. Christian is 22 years old when he leaves his home in Denmark to spend a year in Florida with a very wealthy family and go to med-school.
