Summary from Goodreads:
BLOOD DOESN'T LIE. Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning...

My Review:
Bloodlines is the spin off from the Vampire Academy series. I was so excited when I heard that Richelle was writing this spin off. I love the Vampire Academy series. Bloodlines starts out pretty much where the Vampire Academy series ended. Even if you haven't read it yet Bloodlines does a good job of catching you up while building a new story in a new environment.

I was surprised and excited in the beginning when some old characters show up, even for a short time. I loved Adrian and am loving him even more now. I also really like Sydney and am happy with her character and how she fits in to this new series. I don't want to give away the other characters that have come along to this new series. Oh I want to give you so many details but can't spoil it for you. I will tell you that there are hot guys, a new school, drama, romance, action and laugh out loud moments. The ending was action packed and then like the last sentence I think when someone walks through the door. "Squeals" I can't tell you who! I am so excited that this is going to be another six book series. Now I don't want to have to wait for book two to come out. I need more Bloodlines and Adrian now!

This was given to me as an ARC paperback review copy from the publisher, this did not affect my review in any way.
